My Best Stitch Fix Yet: Unboxing My Ninth Personal Style Delivery!
Well, hello there, fashion enthusiasts and fellow busy bees! Today, I’m breaking from my usual culinary adventures to dive into something equally delicious – a fashion post! Yes, you read that right. While my kitchen is typically where the magic happens, my closet has been experiencing its own delightful transformation thanks to a service I simply adore.
You might be surprised to learn this, given my food-centric blog, but I have a genuine passion for clothes and an extensive collection of shoes that can rival a small boutique. In my younger days, I even had a soft spot for hoarding purses and wallets. Thankfully, I’ve since rehabilitated that habit, relying on the same trusty Fossil crossbody bag for the past four years. Here’s the kicker though: despite my love for style, I absolutely despise shopping, unless it involves navigating the aisles of a grocery store.
This is precisely where Stitch Fix entered my life and completely revolutionized my approach to fashion. This brilliant personal styling service delivers a carefully curated box of clothing and accessories to my doorstep each month, turning what used to be a chore into a highly anticipated event. It’s like Christmas morning, every single time a new fix arrives! My most recent delivery, Stitch Fix #9, has proven to be the most extraordinary yet. For the first time ever, I kept EVERY SINGLE ITEM in the box, all thanks to my incredible stylist, Camille!
A few weeks prior to this fix, I stumbled upon a fascinating Travel Essentials post on the Stitch Fix blog. My immediate thought was, “OMG, this post was written just for me!” It featured a “Mountain Escape” theme, which perfectly aligned with an upcoming trip I had planned. Naturally, I informed my stylist about my mountain getaway, and she thoughtfully hand-picked items that echoed the featured looks. The result? A perfectly curated travel wardrobe delivered right to me, making vacation preparations infinitely happier and stress-free!
Before we delve into the details of my amazing haul, I must offer a small disclaimer about the accompanying photos. Please bear with my amateur photography skills! While I can whip up a visually stunning dish, my abilities to model clothing and capture high-fashion shots are, let’s just say, a work in progress. So, instead of professional studio shots, you’ll see the items creatively displayed on hangers on my closet door, captured with my iPhone. It’s all about the clothes themselves, not my modeling prowess!
My Complete Stitch Fix #9 Unboxing: Every Item I Kept!
This fix truly hit it out of the park. Each piece felt hand-selected for my specific needs and style, and the versatility of these items has already made them staples in my wardrobe. Let’s take a closer look at each treasure:
1. Chaplin Hooded Anorak Cargo Jacket by Market & Spruce – $88

From the moment I pulled this jacket out of the box, I knew it was a keeper. I absolutely adore this anorak! The dark olive green color is incredibly versatile and stylish, offering a subtle pop without being too loud. The fit is utterly perfect – comfortable without being baggy, allowing for easy movement. It strikes a wonderful balance, not being too heavy for Florida’s milder “cold” weather, yet substantial enough to provide a cozy layer when needed. The material feels great against the skin, adding to its overall comfort.
One of my favorite features is the REMOVABLE hood. This thoughtful detail means I can customize my look and functionality based on the weather or my outfit. Sometimes, a hood just isn’t necessary, and having the option to take it off is a huge plus. This jacket is a chameleon, easily transitioning from a dressy casual look – perhaps over a flowy dress – to a perfectly relaxed, plain casual vibe when paired with jeans and a t-shirt. Its adaptability makes it an essential piece in any wardrobe. KEPT, without a doubt!
2. Zena Knit Top by Gentle Fawn – $44

This Zena Knit Top is exactly what I look for in everyday wear: casual, comfortable, and effortlessly stylish. It perfectly aligns with my personal style philosophy, which leans heavily towards non-clingy garments. As someone who is no longer a teenager or in her early 20s, and who enjoys a good beer now and then, my abs aren’t quite as flat as they once were, and that’s perfectly okay! Clingy tops are simply not my friend; they make me feel self-conscious and uncomfortable.
This top, however, is a true ally. It drapes beautifully, offering a relaxed fit that’s flattering without being oversized, and it certainly doesn’t make me look pregnant! The knit fabric feels soft and breathable, making it ideal for various seasons. I’ve already discovered it pairs wonderfully with the boyfriend jeans I kept from a previous Stitch Fix delivery, creating an easy, go-to outfit. Its comfort and style factor cemented its place in my closet. KEPT!
3. Trinidad Chevron Striped Henley Top by 41Hawthron – $48

The Trinidad Chevron Striped Henley Top was the one item in this fix that required a bit more deliberation. While it fit nicely and shared my preferred non-clingy quality, I initially wasn’t entirely convinced. I spent a considerable amount of time going back and forth, trying it on with at least three or four different pairs of shorts, a pair of dress pants, and a trusty pair of jeans, testing its versatility and how it integrated with my existing wardrobe. This is often part of the Stitch Fix process for me – really making sure an item earns its spot.
In the end, what won me over was the incredibly soft, lightweight fabric. It’s perfect for the Florida climate, providing comfort without adding bulk. The subtle chevron stripe adds a touch of visual interest without being overwhelming, making it a great layering piece or a standalone top for warmer days. Its comfort, coupled with its ability to pair well with multiple bottoms, sealed the deal. KEPT!
4. Rex Hardware Detail Crossbody Hobo Bag by Urban Expressions – $68

This Rex Hardware Detail Crossbody Hobo Bag was another item that sparked some internal debate. Typically, I’m not a fan of large purses. My go-to has been a small Fossil crossbody bag for the past four years, a beloved companion I simply can’t part with. I also generally prefer leather purses for their durability and classic feel, and this bag, being from Urban Expressions, is not made of genuine leather.
However, this particular hobo bag presented some compelling advantages that swayed my decision. Its generous size is incredibly practical; it’s large enough to comfortably hold my laptop (in its case!) along with numerous other essentials, making it exceptionally TRAVEL FRIENDLY. It’s also fantastic for carrying all my work items, and yes, I admit it – I sometimes carry my smaller purse inside this larger one. No judgment, please! Despite my usual preference for leather, I could immediately tell that this purse was very well-made. Its construction felt robust and durable, giving me confidence that it will hold up beautifully over time, especially with the hardware details adding a chic touch. The functionality and thoughtful design ultimately made it an indispensable addition. KEPT!
5. Charlton V-Neck Sweater by RD Style – $68

Living in Florida means that sweaters are a rare wardrobe staple. For much of the year, the concept of a sweater is practically foreign to us! So, when I first saw the Charlton V-Neck Sweater, my immediate instinct was to send it back. Why would I need a sweater in perpetually sunny Florida?
Yet, upon closer inspection, I found myself drawn to its unique crochet style and flattering V-neck design. It’s not a solid, heavy material, which means a cami or tank top is a must underneath, making it perfect for light layering rather than heavy warmth. What truly sealed its fate, however, was the incredible 25% discount I would receive for keeping all five items. Financially, it made more sense to keep it! Furthermore, I tried it on with a light green tank top underneath, and the layering combination looked surprisingly chic and felt comfortable for those rare cooler evenings. It’s perfect for adding a touch of style without overheating. The combination of style, the discount incentive, and unexpected versatility ultimately made it a surprisingly smart addition. KEPT!
The Stitch Fix Advantage: My Cost Breakdown and Experience
One of the most appealing aspects of the Stitch Fix service is its transparent pricing and customer-friendly policies. While there’s a $20 styling fee charged initially, this fee is always credited towards any items you decide to purchase. The real magic happens when you fall in love with your entire box, as I did this time!
Because I kept every single item in this particular fix, I received an impressive 25% discount off the total price of all items. That’s right – Stitch Fix genuinely rewards its customers with a significant markdown if they choose to keep their entire curated selection. How absolutely awesome is that for encouraging you to find joy in your entire box?
Here’s a clear breakdown of the cost for my Stitch Fix #9:
- Total price of all items before discounts: $316.00
- Less the applied styling fee credit: -$20.00
- Less the fantastic 25% discount for keeping all items: -$74.00
- My out-of-pocket cost for all these amazing, stylish, and perfectly chosen items: $222.00
To acquire five high-quality, versatile pieces of clothing and an essential travel bag, all professionally selected to suit my personal style and needs, for just $222.00 is an incredible value. It completely bypasses the time, effort, and frustration of traditional shopping, offering a truly personalized and convenient experience.
